Probably will do this next month some time if approved!

Gaius ( [personal profile] willwork4sugar )
Played by: Aya
Canon: Fire Emblem: Awakening
Original Canon Point: After the party's returned from Plegia to Ylisse in the wake of the death of the Exalt. (Chapter 11)
New Canon Point: Chapter 20, where this time Ylisse is threatened by forces from the neighboring continent of Valm, and thus takes the battle directly to the Valmese conqueror, Walhart.
Any Significant Changes:
It's roughly two years later since Chrom has been named Exalt. Although not particularly detailed what's happened in those two years, it can probably be safely said that Gaius has continued under the employ of Chrom and the Shepherds during that time. He's probably gotten closer to those who have also joined them, and gotten more used to looking out for others as well as being looked out for in turn. While his skills as a thief have still been put to good use, such as being an informant and the occasional lockpick, but he's also been in and out of acquiring other skills as well.

With this new impending danger of Valm and the exploration of new territory, Gaius has also become aware of the idea that there are portals to other instances of their world and then some, as well as the possibility of time travel, the latter namely because they've got the future spawn of some of their Shepherds running around the land, all with the same intentions of trying to prevent a dark future where the Fell Dragon Grima wreaks havoc and chaos. Even though by this time Gaius knows that there's more than just surviving and having good pay and delicious sweets, to know that things are so bad and that such a future hinges on their current actions is as much of an eye-opener as anything. Failure isn't an option, and neither is the death of any of those he's come to call companions.

Jumping back to the subject of portals to other worlds, such is how they get their hands on a mysterious scroll that allows one to basically change job classes and be able to learn how to use magic aside from skills in stealth and in using a blade, namely the Dread Fighter class. It's a class Gaius takes to quite well considering he's already been handy at a blade and at stealth, and with the additional use of magic, he's pretty much become something of a ninja-mage. He has access to Anima magic, which ranges between wind, fire and thunder, as well as some nifty armor. Fun stuff. (The class change is more of a subjective thing because I spoiled Gaius in my game 9_9;; but he made an awesome Dread Fighter, man.)
