Asami Sato (automobiles) Played by: Cal Canon: Legend of Korra Original Canon Point: End of Book 2 New Canon Point: End of Book 3 Any Significant Changes: Considering only about a couple of weeks have passed, her physical appearance isn't going to be changing at all. Mentally, however, her personality is going to remain overall the same, but a lot of things have happened in between, so there are going to be a few things to note. More particularly having to do with her friendship with Avatar Korra.
At the start of the series and throughout the first 2 books of it, most of Asami's relationships seem to be more centered on her unrequited romance with Mako, which just ends up disheartening her for obvious reasons. By the time Book 3 rolls around, Korra has to face a new threat (i.e. the Red Lotus trying to kidnap and kill her), as well as trying to help build up and restore a new airbending nation after Harmonic Convergence gives certain people these new found airbending powers. Asami, of course, offers to take Korra and the rest of the crew in her airship to search for these airbenders. More than half of her time is spent with, not Mako, but Korra instead as she tries to help assist her friend in several situations through the course of the book. At the end, after Korra defeats her new enemy and is confined to a wheelchair after being poisoned, Asami takes to taking care of of her; doing her hair, wheeling her around, etc. She even states that she's here for Korra if she ever needs anything, and although they were never technically on bad terms with each other before, this kind of close friendship wasn't present (with anyone) early on in the series. Also, for the first time in a while, since before her dad betrayed her, Asami's overall demeanor is a lot more happier. Especially since she's not very focused on any kind of unrequited love anymore, or at least not as much, or being too lonely and grows a lot more closer to her other friends, the Avatar more so.
Happier she may be, she'll be pretty worried and shaken up upon returning back.
